Lorre 'grateful' for 'Men' rebirth

It had been a grateful Chuck Lorre that found TCA on Wednesday to deal with the rebirth of "2 . 5 Males" following the blowup this past year with former star Charlie Sheen. Lorre opened up the sesh by emphasizing "we're grateful to become here." He and co-creator Lee Aronsohn also stressed they understood it had been a lengthy shot to relaunch the show with Ashton Kutcher. "It has been an enjoyable, exciting, challenging, terrifying experience," Lorre stated. "We have been laughing a great deal.Inch The questions regarding Sheen were stored low. Of the possibilities of a reconciliation, Lorre stated: "If only him well. I am glad he's sober, happy and healthy." Aronsohn designed a reason for observing the talk of strife between Lorre and Sheen throughout the show's eight seasons of production was misstated. "I never saw that," he stated. "All that emerged after Charlie left the show. What's been developed like a feud never really been around." Lorre mostly deferred questions regarding the show's future next season to CBS executives. He stated he felt the show had the legs to carry on artistically "according to what's happening now within the writers' room -- absolutely." Kutcher would be a little coy when pressed concerning the question of coming back, because he only signed for that current season as he was employed last spring. He stated he was viewing the postseason period as "a hiatus" and stated he's "thinking about returning as we can function that out." Contact Cynthia Littleton at cynthia.littleton@variety.com
